Sat 9.17.11

Fee and I lazed about the house all day playing guys and doing legos. Asher had a soccer game that Maggie and hazel attended. Asher thinks it was a tie. The kids played 'school' in the afternoon which turned into some sort of military/sci fi scenario involving them smoke-bombing me (dr deyoung) and them turning invisible. Bon fire dinner- woo hoo.

Friday 9.16.11

Maggie took a vacation day! She and Asher ran to school in the am:) in preparation for them running the big house 5k - dr deyoung (the principal) was outside and cheered them in to school. Maggie and hazel walked downtown for coffee while I worked on the landscape.




Hazel did some painting out front

I went to noah's baptism at the arboretum later to take pics with a waterproof camera--- I got in the river with Noah and the minister. I felt like a nat'l geographic photographer. All to the hall's for a pizza party afterward.

Thurs 9.15.11

Fee is still griping about school and crying at drop-off, but he seems happier anyway. He's mentioned two boys that he plays with (Jacob and Noah) -both are shy and nice.



Hazel fell asleep like a drunken guru while watching Tom and Jerry in the afternoon.

Wed 9.14.11

New Landscape action




It was super cold and raining but Asher had soccer practice anyway! The whole team played for an hour and a half and didn't complain once. There seems to be a new toughness that Asher and the other second grade boys are feeling.

9.13.11 Tuesday

Fee played at sebby's some in the am and it seemed to boost his spirits about school- first day with no tears!
Hazel and I got mulch and river stones for the front.


Few and hazel painted each other.




Asher doing a grasshopper release at kozmo's. We walked there for dinner to live up the pleasant weather.

Monday 9.12.11

Asher rode home from school- we drove.

Fee did even better at school today! He had gym and he loved it.

Sunday 9.11.11

Fee and hazel played in the baby pool in the afternoon. They pretended to be a married couple at a hotel on mackinaw island sitting in a hot tub. I brought them a bottle of sparkling apple juice (compliments of the manager)

if they have kids and fee says, "that's why we like wine".

Saturday 9.10.11

Fee's first soccer game! (at 9 am) Maggie took him /// he ended up refusing to play.... Not surprising




Meanwhile- Asher, hazel, and I did some legoing and Lego inventory- wow!

Later/ Asher' soccer game at wines- he did play and loved it. We all attended and played at the park too.


Hazel did the big kid swing:) she was proud and kept muttering "see it's not too scary"



George stopped by to recap our ex-neighbor Mathew's wedding in detroit. We didn't go due to soccer obligations




It was as pleasant as can be in the afternoon/evening- we walked to kerrytown for the homegrown festival.
