10.17.09 Saturday

Boys up too early. Dad feels horrible- back to bed for the a.m. Mom, Asher, Felix, Jim, Jess, Penny, & Trixie walk to farmers mkt. and no Thai. Reuse center, scrap box trip for dad/fee jim/jess/trixie later. Played and dinner at home..... To amer's for ice cream and yogurt b4 bed. State street was busy post football game. On way back to car fee was shooting passersby with his imaginary laser gun. One victim, an overlyfriendly drunk homeless man, chased boys around sidewalk insisting on getting knuckles and an elbow from them. Fee obliged. Asher hid behind dad and refused. In the car he said it was because the guy was crazy.

Fri 10.16.09

Felix tried following me and hazel out of school this am but was lured back in by mrs archer's 'will it float?' experiment. Took hazel to preschool meeting in basement where she played piano with baby Liam. Naps for F and H in afternoon then made clothespin bats b4 mom and Jim home for dinner and bonfire.

Thursday 10.15

Picked up jim at Toledo train station at 5 am- got home in time to take Asher to school. As day wore on I felt super crappy. Just hung out at home like a zombie - kids played well together! Jim and mom home for dinner- I went to bed for the night.

wednesday 10.14.09

felix had a great day at school today. had to convince him that hazel was really sad that she
couldn't stay at preschool too and reminded him that that was how he was when asher would stay...... and look at mr. big now! it worked!,,,, this time at least. naps for felix and hazel in afternoon.... maggie had afternoon off- took asher to trader joes. the boys went to the Y for swim class later. asher was crazy tired and appeared to be annoying his swim teacher with his hang all over her/touch her with his feet routine we love so much. his teacher said 'yes, he was really annoying' when i asked her about it after class.

10.13.09

Fun morning playing with Felix and hazel. Window guy stopped over- new windows coming in a couple weeks! Picked up Asher who was jazzed about hula hoops from his gym class experience earlier- so we went straight to the $ store but no luck- we did get scrubbers for bath tub fun and some awesome swords. Hazel chowed today and started trying to sign 'more' while eating! We went searching for the notorious "dogman" of miner st. Armed with swords and binoculars. We didn't find him.

10.12.09

Felix gave some grief about going to school and then about staying at school but after a huge poop in his pull-up,,, he was just fine letting me and hazel go. When I asked how it was later he said it was great! Asher made robots at school in art class and learned how to turn a square into a circle (cut the corners).

Jenny and Miles came over after lunch and played for almost 3 hours- during which time the boys played really well and built a train track thru kitchen: dining room, office etc. It was very impressive.

10.11.09

Grandma Laney and papa here in a.m. M and D to breakfast with Nita at her hotel while kids stayed back to play with G parents and Charlie dog. M and boys made cookies then dad took Asher to Abigayle's b-day party at Jump City. Sunday dinner at our house with the usuals minus carol.
