sadly, i took no pictures today so i included this dot-to-dot hazel that i made for asher today.

A very lazy Saturday for the kids, but mom worked til noon. The boys stayed in pjs and played all over the house really sweetly. Asher was thrilled to have a slow morning at home. After a week or so of refusing to use the toilet- Felix pooped in the toilet and was super proud of it. After lunch-fee & hazel took naps & Asher/mom walked downtown to get esther a bday gift. Asher walked the whole way there and back & occasionally stopped to comment on interesting things then pretended to write down info with a stick. outside play with mom in fort then dinner and bike rides on dad's newly fixed bike w/ baby seat.

Both boys to school on this crisp and pretty am. Felix still sounds really sick- hazel in great silly spirits ready to laugh at anything but still a snotty mess. She is really considering crawling buy isn't ready to take the big leap. In afternoon,
Fee and H napped while Asher did dot to dots and colored. He can keep it in the lines now -kindergarten is working!
played in basement b4 mom home for walk/bike ride to mixtwood park for picnic dinner. Met Amy (works at art museum) and beatrice who live next to park. Asher rode ahead on likeabike and popped out to scare us every 100 yds or so.

Hazel and Felix pretty sick still, yet F was still up b4 the sun. Watched part of empire strikes back again and then began on and off playing with star wars toys. Played up in kids' room while Asher was at school. Afternoon- Felix & hazel nap & Asher and dad do experiments with flashlights and water to make rainbows. Made egg carton glasses and played in yard then more basement star wars play. Mr Bill the neighbor brought over a bag of dress-up clothes including a cauldron in which the boys made robbers alphabet stew.

Tried to drop felix off at preschool this am to avoid getting hazel out of the car but he was not interested in walking up with lucy's mom. He was very clingy and still super stuffed up - and asked me to sit with him thru circle time. Martha brought him home but he told me he wanted me to do it! Home for a nice lunch out back then boys watched space buddies as required downtime rather than a nap. Did some watercolor painting and when H got up all to Y for Asher's swim lesson. Felix and hazel had a blast swimming with me in the little pool. F did a lot of bobbing and dipping his head under.

9.22.09

Mom took Asher to school and dad/fee/hazel to trader joes. After lunch boys watched empire strikes back for the first time. Felix got ancy after 45 minutes- and played instead, but was fascinated by the tauntauns and 'the snow monster' and talked about them for the rest if the day. Really muggy day- went on bike ride up miner st. -hazel kept standing up while driving her pink car. Did wolf body language worksheet b4 dinner. Felix was really stuffed up all day and Asher was starting to sound the same by bedtime.

Dropped off Asher at school then Felix and some bday muffins at preschool. Felix got a blue crown that said Felix is 3! In glitter to wear for the day from mrs archer. hazel and drove (rainy day) to the library & happened upon baby story/play hour with Laura and Sarah the gtr lady leading it. Hazel sat and smiled and enjoyed herself quite a bit.
In afternoon boys and I played hide and seek in the basement and discussed felix's fear of bears- and decided to leave the light on in stairwell upstairs overnight to keep the bears away and Felix in his bed. Rode bikes to Belize park when H woke up. I saw a couple having a fist fight on sidewalk up summit- kids didn't see it and played with sylvie, Zane, and their dad while I talked to police about it.

9.20.09 Felix's birthday!

Felix is 3! Up and out the door to jenny's farm stand in Dexter for felix's birthday party at 10. Blue skies and 70degrees. The kids got flashlights as favors for the haunted hay maze which was a bug hit with most. Pony rides/hay rides/donuts and cider! Felix was pretty exhausted and a bit clingy at times but he had a great time. Asher and Esther loved the hay maze and played tag with hadrienne and Josh for a very long time. Also at the party were miles & ella w/ jenny and noah.... Aurore and pierre louis with ann and frederik...... Ryan, Kate, and jack..... Matt,monica,sophie,claire.......martha, sebby...... Kristy, adam, morgan, rory.

After the party- Laney & papa back home with us for lunch and more present opening. Felix took a much needed nap before Sunday night dinner at Tom and carol's house with Anita,Barbara, Madeline, & Ron. Hazel ate pumpkin pie there and liked it pretty well.
