11.20.09 Friday

M home from night of call - breakfast together then I took boys to school with hazel and m went back to sleep for a bit. Had a room group mtg at fees school- hazel, Liam, and mimi entertained each other. After lunch- Jenny came by with miles to give Asher a card.... J left miles to hang with the boys for an hour or so. Then all played in the basement til mom back to work-

11.18.09 Thursday

Jenny watched fee and hazel while I went to asher's school for the first publishing party. The kids all read the stories they'd written in class. Asher's was called 'my mom took me to school today'. He did great and gave me lots of thumbs ups from the carpet while he waited his turn. in the afternoon we made a sarlac pit for the star wars guys out of carpet and a bucket. Took pizza to the hospital to meet Maggie- who's on call tonight and tomorrow.

I told Felix that Noah was at work today- he said "moms go to work, not dads".

11.18.09 Wednesday

Maggie took Asher and hazel to get A's cast. He only has to wear it for 3 weeks if all heals as they think it will. Meanwhile I took fee, sebby, and aurore to the preschool field trip at the Chelsea Teddy bear factory where the kids stuffed lions and tigers- then on to the treehouse playplace for fun and lunch. All hung out at home in afternoon and played in basement.

11.17.09 Tuesday

maggie drove Asher to school - felix, hazel, and i played in the basement and in the submarine and a little backyard action. we picked up a sad and tired asher- it was p.e. day at school and he "tried playing 'spiders and flies' for a minute but ended up just bouncing a ball by himself a little" - he said in the bravest face he could manage. at home he just wanted to watch tv on the couch. he did and the rest of us played all over the house. asher joined us later in the basement for some star wars-ing which he perked up for and continued his good mood encouraging us to have a bonfire after dinner with s'mores.

11.16.09 monday

Felix's pictures arrived--- cute!

asher's first day at school with his splint. he was pretty cool about going though he said he didn't want anyone to see his arm- until i told him that his friends could write on it. martha picked up felix and he screamed NOOOOOO! and cried a ton but we shoved him in the car and he stopped crying halfway down the driveway. at home,,, both boys were super tired and pretty cool. we did a lot of lounging and playing with hazel on the floor. we brought the inflatable submarine upstairs and hazel loves it! peeking out the windows and bouncing on the sides keep her very busy.

11.15.09 Sunday

The boys got up early even after a pretty fitful sleep for Asher- he was very chipper and was proud of all he could do with his one good hand. Esther and sebby and Josh stopped by in the am with cards and played for a while. Then the 5 of us went to lunch at amer's then borders to buy Asher a cheer-up toy and a workbook. After lunch the boys relaxed and watched Tom and Jerry. Monica and Sophie brought Asher cookies! Fee and Maggie to trader joes b4 Sunday dinner at anitas. Asher started to fall asleep and get a little loopy/ Felix seems to enjoy asher's more subdued state and was extra nutty today.

Saturday 11.14.09

Such. Beautiful day for Ella Glass' birthday party! Until ------ Asher fell out of a tree and broke his arm. We took him home but he wouldn't get out of the car and couldn't move his fingers so Maggie stayed home with Felix and hazel while o took Asher to the emergency room. We were there from 2:30 til 7 and Asher was really calm and watched he-man on my phone. Getting him to sleep was sad- he is crushed by the whole deal.
