Saturday 11.7.09

Such a pretty day! 65 and sunny--- Maggie home at breakfast from night 2 at the hospital. All hung around house and yard until I took Asher and Esther to kevin's bday party at chuck e chz and Maggie took fee and hazel to belize park. Hazel loved going down the slide next to M. Later Carter, Lisa, & Ella came over to babysit while Maggie and I walked downtown for a dinner date. It was super crowded (after the Michigan game) and we ended up at marnee Thai for a nice evening. We got home just in time to put the kids to bed.

Friday 10.6.09

Maggie home from her night at the hospital just in time for breakfast with the kids,,,,,,, then I took Asher to school for his field trip to a music show of some sort(when quizzed-he couldn't say much more) and then assisted at the preschool with fee. I worked in the noisy room and was thoroughly spent by the end of class. We drove sebby and aurore home-they were supercute trying to get me to race other cars. In the afternoon we went on a family walk b4 maggie back to work.

Thursday 10.5.09

Maggie had to be at work at 6 for her 24 hour call shift so the kids got up at 6 to keep me on my toes. After taking Asher to school we headed home for guy playing and more guy playing!!! Felix has become a crazy person-much like Asher was at 3- constantly putting toys in my hand and saying "pretend he talks". He is a really good pretender and makes some funny voices! In the afternoon the kids had a long and sleepy lunch before----- more playing guys,... He-man guys in fact. Asher is getting more patient with felix' play style which makes a huge difference in the fun factor.

Hazel continues to crawl over every inch of the house like some little explorer-monkey. The dog water bowl is her favorite landmark so far -------the hand dip/wet hand clap is very common.
We picked up pizza and took it to the hospital to eat with Maggie and say our goodnights. The boys were spastic and ran thru the halls and had a wonderful time.

11.4.09 Wednesday

Maggie off in am-stayed home with hazel while I took boys to school then did errands. In the afternoon we read books, made a cd case house, and put the last boards on the roof of the fort b4 gymnastics class. Felix got shy and debated whether or not to participate for a few minutes but was lured in by coach kate and i let him hold a little menthol sniffer from thailand- it was his conversation piece-he kept sniffing it, saying "this smells so minty". both boys had a superfun time gymnasticizing on the air track(a huge inflatable climbing wall and mat). Hazel enjoyed crawling around the observation room and listening to the gossip.

11.2.09 Monday

felix did an awesome job letting me leave him at school b4 taking hazel with me to my check-up with dr. rodgers. she sat on my lap and stared at the fish tank in the lobby for 45 minutes and didn't touch anything! after rounding up the boys and heading home, we spent the afternoon coloring and counting sidewalk chalk bubbles on the driveway. after dinner- anita and george came over to babysit while maggie and i went to our first parent-teacher conference for asher.
she said that asher is a friend to all the kids and even has a few devoted 'followers' who want to be doing whatever he is doing because he includes them and looks at them and listens to them and is kind to them. she also said that if you asked any kid in the class who they like that they'd say Asher. we are super proud of our nice boy.

Tuesday 11.3.09

No school for Asher today because his school is a polling site. We had a fun a.m. Playing around the house- made shaving cream- filled balloons and popped them out back. Went to Chelsea for Asher and hazel's h1n1 vaccines(fee got it last week) last minute then got delicious shakes and bagels for our troubles.

Played ring- toss game outside in afternoon while H slept then Asher to esther's for a playdate. Played guys with Felix and hazel b4 dinner in basement.

-hazel is crazy for yogurt! She can't get enough peach and pear.

11.1.09 Sunday

Whole fam to y for a swim in the morning. Asher was really into practicing and swam about 20 ft with no help! Still dog paddling and won't put his face in all the way.
After lunch the kids rested while dad raked leaves- joined by all for raking and a hangout with Anita in front yard b4 Sunday dinner at anita's- dad broke then fixed the garbage disposer while fee pooped then peed on the carpet- he told carol "hey carol, I stepped in poop", carol asked where the poop came from,, Felix said, "my butt". He came home with no pants on.
