Monday 8.23.10

Fee was sooooo excited to be the biggest kid at home. He played all over the house with everything. We did some bike riding practice at the cul de sac. I worked on furniture bldg when possible.

Sunday 8.22.10

Back to the beach for one last flip-flop search. I found 3 different single shoes
(with teeth marks in them) in the dunes before I found my own (luckily not chewed up yet) way up the hill in a clearing of grass. It was definitely the foxes who stole the shoe!

After the walk, we headed to crown point to meet g Linda and g Barry for lunch- and asher's departure to champain. He wasn't sad at all (we were).

It was a long/quiet drive back to aa- where boxes of ikea furniture were waiting for us.

Friday 8.20.10

Laney, Maggie, felix, and hazel went blueberry picking and to the mc library while Asher and I went on a bike ride to the Michigan border down lake shore drive. I showed him how to brush his teeth with dinosaur grass that was growing on the dune-he loved it! It was an intensely colorful morning -though the picture is not. the dinosaur grass in asher's teeth with the yellow and blue of the beach behind him is burned in my mind.


Beach fun with Matilda and crew later. Pizza on the beach- bonfire!!! Two foxes came down to the sand- one of my flip-flops disappeared...... Coincidence?

8.19.10 thursday

Maggie and I headed back to long beach in the am. The kids all did well- hazel slept thru the night (with a Teddy bear)! We met up with the brewe's at stop 24 for some beach fun/---- the water was amazingly warm and ankle deep sandbar just off the shore provided lots of entertainment. Hacienda for dinner and oinks for dessert!
